COVID-19 Updates


​Welcome back to the library!

Shawano County library will re-open all branches on Monday March 1, 2021 on a limited basis. Patrons will be allowed inside the branches to browse the shelves and check out materials. Please see the specific branch page for hours of operation.

We ask for your patience during this transition. Your cooperation with safety policies helps ensure the library can continue to expand services.

What you need to know before your visit:
  • Masks that cover both the nose and mouth are required for ages 2 and older.
  • Those who are unable to wear a mask should plan to use curbside service.
  • Please save your visit for another time if you are not feeling well.
  • Visits will be limited to 1 hour per day.
  • Children ages 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Meeting rooms remain closed.
  • Gatherings are prohibited.
  • Library programs remain virtual or by picking up a program kit.

  • Browse and check out materials
  • Apply for a library card or renew your card
  • Pick up holds
  • Use a computer (appointment required)
  • Charge a device
  • Use public WiFi (appointment required)
  • Copy, Print, Fax, Scan (fax only available at Main Library)
  • Mobile printing (available at all branches except Birnamwood)
  • Schedule an appointment for curbside service.
  • Pickup tax forms
  • Pay a fine or fee on your account (or pay online by logging into InfoSoup)
 
Safety measures
  • Plexiglass has been installed at all service desks.
  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout the building.
  • CDC-advised cleaning protocols are in place.
  • Returned materials are quarantined.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I have a medical condition and can’t wear a face mask? Curbside pickup of library materials will continue to be available by appointment. Call your branch or schedule a curbside appointment.  If you have other service needs and cannot safely be in a branch, library staff will work with you to help. Please call your branch for assistance.

Do I need an appointment to use a computer? Yes, computer appointments are required. Computer access will be for up to 1 hour daily.

Where can I return library materials? Books can be returned 24/7/365 to the outdoor bookdrops at all branches.

Can I bring my family into the library? Yes, members of the same household may be in the library together, but please be respectful of others by staying at least 6 feet away from other individuals or household groups while in the library.

Will my children be able to use the play areas and do activities while at the library? Play areas will be blocked off and toys, games and other activities will not be available at this time. Ask about grab-n-go activity kits for children and families that can be taken home. 

Are you offering Home Delivery service? Yes, delivery services are available for organizations and homebound individuals. Find out more here. 

Will the number of people allowed in the building be limited? Capacity will be monitored frequently and each branch will be open for 25% of the usual capacity.
